These food coupons are issued to students to provide them fresh and hot meal twice a day. On food coupons, students are allowed to buy food almost every restaurant in the city. The major portion of the price is given by government and very less portion is taken from students for this coupon.  Though, students have to follow some rules to use these food coupons. Students can buy food on these coupons from 8 am to 8 pm daily. The student can get food on one coupon twice a day. There should be four hours gap between both meals. This food is not ordinary food. Students are provided soup, one main dish, fruits, and salad. Normally this food is expensive in Slovenia but on food coupon, it is available at very less price.

HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM OF SLOVENIA 

There are many higher education institutions in Slovenia. Some of them are private but the major portion of higher education institutions are public funded. These higher education institutions are included public universities, private universities, art academies, higher vocational colleges etc. These public and private universities including the University of Ljubljana, University of Maribor, University of Primorska and University of Nova Gorica (private) are offering different study programs in all fields of education.

There are different study cycles for higher education in Slovenia. A short cycle for higher vocational education consists of 2 years. The first cycle for Bachelor’s Degree Programs consists of 3 to 4 year according to a field of study. The second cycle for Master’s Degree Programs consists of 1 to 2 years as per requirement of your course. The third cycle for Doctoral Degree Program consists of 3 years.

The performance of higher education students assesses by grades. Students are required to get 6 grades out of 10. Some study courses assess by pass/fail system.

The higher vocational education is consisting of 120 credit hours to be completed in two years. Higher vocational colleges offer this degree. After completing vocational education students can carry on the professional study next to the degree level.

All Pakistani / non-EU students have required the visa to enter in Slovenia. Normally study programs in Slovenia are longer than 3 months so students are issued Visa D which is issued for one year. PART TIME JOBS IN SLOVENIA FOR PAKISTANI STUDENTS

Study and work in Slovenia is possible for Pakistani students. All international students are allowed to work as part-time in Slovenia. But it is not as simple as some other countries in Europe. In Slovenia international students are required to get work via student service agency (SS). To get enroll with SS international students are required following documents:

  • Identification Document (ID)
  • Slovenian bank account
  • Slovenian tax number
  • Certificate of enrolment
  • Proof of residency (optional)

If a student finds a job himself then he is required to inform his SS agency about his job, then SS agency will provide him referral form. The student will give this form to his employer. Keep in mind that finding a job in Slovenia is not an easy task. it is a small country and there are very few jobs are available in Slovenia for international students who can speak Slovenian.

The minimum wage rate for the student is 4.50 Euro, students will be given 3.80 Euro after deducting 15.5% amount on their wage. This deducted amount is a contribution for pension and disability insurance. One thing more all international students are needed to pay 22.5 % tax on their income which will be deducted by SS agency. So imagine yourself how much amount would be left for your after deduction.
