ACCOMMODATION IN SLOVAKIA FOR PAKISTANI/FOREIGN STUDENTS

There are different residence options available in Slovakia. It depends on students which option they choose. All residence options have different rents. Students choose the residence according to their living habits and bank balance. But as an international student, you should choose a most economical option of living and should save your valuable money for study and future. Here we discuss some of the residence options on the page of PakStudyAbroad.com

DORMITORIES / HOSTEL IN HIGHER EDUCATION OF SLOVAKIA

You can find dormitories/hostels in most of higher education institutions in Slovakia. It is a most economical way of living. The rent of dormitory is varying according to university and condition of the room. Normally a student is charged 67 Euro to 100 Euro per month for a single bed according to facilities of the room. Students are given a furnished room with attached bathroom. However, a common kitchen, living room and dining hall are also provided to students. Finding a place is not easy in the dormitory. A place is given to students in the dormitory on first come first get basis. Students should apply for a room in dormitory immediate after confirmation of admission.

PRIVATE OR SHARED FLAT / APARTMENT IN SLOVAKIA

International students who can’t succeed to reserve place in a dormitory can rent their private apartment or flat. Rent for a flat or apartment can be charged 300 Euro to 400 Euro per month. Living in private apartment is expensive in big cities, but it is good for those people who want to keep their privacy. But PakStudyAbroad.com will suggest you that if you can’t find the place in the dormitory then you should rent a flat/apartment in sharing with other students. Living with sharing can save your lots of money. You can save a major portion of rent by this living style. And you can cook your own food at your flat’s kitchen by sharing with other students. This way of eating is way too economical than dining out at a restaurant, canteen, hotel or food points. Don’t spend more money on living, spend it on your study.

PART TIME JOBS FOR PAKISTANI STUDENTS IN SLOVAKIA

Students are allowed to work as part-time. Local or international students who are studying in higher educational institutions of Slovakia are allowed to do a job for 20 hours per week during semester time. Slovakia is a small country and it is not easy to find a job there without knowledge of the Slovakian language. Because normally part-time jobs are available at the spots where public dealing is compulsory like restaurants, clubs, bars, hotels, shopping malls, markets, gas stations, call centers, parks, receptionists etc. So knowledge of the Slovakian language would be more beneficial to work at these places. Part time job can cover your living expenses. You can’t depend on your part time job to cover your entire stay abroad. Wage rate is low in Slovakia as compare to other European countries like Spain, France, and Germany. The minimum wage rate for a low qualified job is 2.5 Euro to 3 Euro.

However, if you find a high qualified job like CNC operator, computer related jobs or some office jobs then you can earn more than minimum wage. Students can get paid or unpaid internships also in Slovakia. Both are beneficial for students. However, paid internship is way too better, because you can earn and learn both in paid internship. But if you aren’t paid then you can learn and get practical experience which can help you during and after studies.

But students should keep one thing in mind that their basic purpose in Slovakia is studying. PakStudyAbroad.com advises you that don’t waste your precious time in finding a part-time job. Wasting your time in the job will affect your grades and it will be the permanent loss of life.
